Hamburg’s Otto Hahn School provides facilities for the organization’s laboratory

The Otto Hahn School in Hamburg-Jenfeld will make its premises available for the BeeNature/Save The Bees organization's laboratory. The administration of the school - which has been awarded the title of a European environmental school for the 15th time - has decided to support the project on a permanent basis. The lab will be set up in close proximity to the school's apiculture, which has been supervised by Mr. Torben Schiffer since 2006. The lab is currently being prepared and will likely be finished by August. This great collaboration will also maintain the opportunity for students to take part in our research. The research into the book scorpion had been preceded by several successful research projects initiated by teachers and students in the areas of adequate beehive environments and appropriate beekeeping. For these studies, the school has been awarded among others the "Hanse-Umweltpreis 2009" (Hanse Environmental Award/Nabu Award), while also winning the German Federal Environmental Competition in 2010 and the Silver Medal at the International Environmental Project Olympiad (INEPO) 2011.
